Apprentice Tanner didn’t consider himself to be a shy individual. Fellow normally was out-going and puckish with other people. But as fellow sat in the steel stool facing Master Barrett, dude could not help but feel nervous and tight-lipped. And when the older man spoke, Tanner was uncharacteristically unsure of precisely how to answer. The initial interview questions were uncomplicated and easy adequate to speak ’bout, but the youthful man found himself mumbling his answers.
When Tanner had 1st been introduced to the Masonic Order, boy was thrilled and honored. At this time, his confidence and intrigue were sky-high. But instantly, under the careful gaze of the calm and mysterious Master Barrett, Apprentice Tanner felt as humbled as he’d ever remembered. What if man failed to answer the man’s questions correctly? What if dude couldn’t impress those massively impressive masters, all so wise, knowing and enigmatic?
Unannouncedly, Master Barrett stopped speaking. Dude sat very still in his immaculate white suit and tie and gazed at the youthful man for a quiet moment. Barrett had some greater amount serious questions to ask the apprentice. And this guy wanted to know if Tanner could be wholly honest with him. Seemingly out of nowhere, the older man asked Tanner if fellow were sexually attracted to men.
