Kristen Bjorn’s new epic, Men Amongst the Ruins, finds him at the top of his form, again delivering an international cast this performs with heated fervor in an exquisitely photographed foreign setting. Here, the exotic location is a company of crumbling, abandoned ruins — what once may have been an elegant enclave of South or Central American public buildings but what has immediately become a popular cruising ground. Every city has 1 of these spots, but here it’s strikingly picturesque, and the cast is filled with cute men of the sort one rarely finds in such secret sites of anonymous sex. Not content to rest on his laurels and only repeat what boy has done so well so often, in spite of that, Bjorn here experiments with a various structuring of his sex scenes. every fan of the renowned administrator knows that lad takes three or four days to shoot each episode (which accounts for the 3 or 4 sets of pop shots that pepper every sequence), but here dude breaks up several of the episodes and sprinkles pieces of them through movie. The result is that we are treated to encore after unpredicted encore, and the device — especially with regard to the film’s 2 splendiferous stars, Slava Petrovich and Max Veneziano — restrains the complete video jointly and gives it nice forward penetrate. There are 5 separate lustful interludes in the movie, but it feels as if there were a dozen.
